Making a comeback

Hello again. It's been a while since I've blogged. Things have been crazy around here and when I get too busy the blog is the first thing to be put at the end of my to do list. A lot has happened since I got sick in July. Here is some of the most important news.

We had some water back up into our house in August and, after months of waiting, our downstairs is finally being put back together. I will post before and after pictures towards the end of the week.

Also, we found out the gender of our baby. Yes I am pregnant! I never even announced the pregnancy news here on the blog, so there you have it. In March 2012 we will be welcoming a little BOY into our family. We are so excited. If Rebecca knew what is going on she would be very excited as well. She loves babies.

This post was to get me going again. Pictures and video of Rebecca as well as the house will be coming shortly.

Voltando

Já faz bastante tempo que eu postei notícias. A vida têm sido um pouco louca por aqui e quando eu fico muito ocupada a primeira coisa que eu ignoro é o meu blog. Muitas coisas aconteceram desde que eu fiquei doente em julho. Aqui estão agumas das notícias mais importantes.

Nós tivemos um problema com esgoto que danificou o nosso piso de madeira no primeiro andar. Depois de meses de espera, a nossa casa está voltando ao normal com a instalação de um novo piso. Vou postar fotos do antes e do depois mais pro final da semana.

Também descobrimos o sexo do nosso bebê. Sim, eu estou grávida. Em março de 2012 nós vamos adicionar um MENINO à nossa familia. Nós estamos muito animados. Se a Rebecca soubesse que ela vai ter um irmãozinho logo ela também estaria animada por que ela adora bebês.

Bom, eu espero agora votlar a postar frequentemente. Logo logo postarei fotos e videos da casa e da Rebecca . Por enquanto, aqui está uma foto da Rebecca trabalhando ao lado do papai.

In the meantime

I wasn't able to get back to blogging as I thought I would. I am working on future posts about what has happened in the last few weeks. In the meantime, here is Rebecca trying something new.

I'm Alive!

I am back! I've been away from the blog and from normal life for the past three and half weeks. It's a long story if I tell the whole thing, but I am only going to tell the important and exciting parts.

I was in the hospital for nine days over a two-week span because of a virus called an enterovirus. This virus caused me to have pericarditis (inflammation of the sac around the heart), constant fevers for two weeks, bone, muscle, and joint pain, a cough, headaches, and a few other problems. The exciting part in all this is that we didn't know what was going on while it was happening. The doctors were just watching the symptoms and testing me for anything they could think of.

In all honesty, these were the worst weeks of my life. I am not mentioning the details, but just to give an idea of my nightmare, after four days in the hospital I was anemic over the fact that they had taken so much blood to test.

Thanks to our church ward and family, Caleb and Becca managed to survive this time when I was no help with anything.

I am doing better now and my mom is here from Brazil to help us with what I still can't do. I am still feeling pretty tired and worn out.

Here is some stats from my last four weeks:

And for my favorite part, number of times my blood was taken for diagnoses: 32

Anyway, life is back to normal now. The blog posts should be back to normal as well.


Estou viva!

Estou de volta! Eu estive longe do blog e da minha vida normal pelas últimas três semanas. A história é longa então não vou contar todos os detalhes mas só as partes importantes.

Eu estive no hospital por nove dias em duas semanas por causa de um vírus chamado enterovirus. Esse vírus me causou pericardite, (inflamação do saco onde fica o coração) febres constantes por duas semanas, dor nos ossos, músculos e juntas, uma tosse, dores de cabeça e outros problemas. A melhor parte disso é que os médicos não tinham a mínima idéia do que estava errado.

Para falar a verdade, essas foram as piores semanas da minha vida. Eu não estou mencionando os detalhes do meu pesadêlo mas só para dar uma idéia, depois de quatro dias no hospital eu estava anêmica por que os médicos tiraram tanto sangue meu para testar.

Graças a ajuda que recebemos da nossa igreja e familiares, o Caleb e a Rebecca sobreviveram durante esse tempo em que eu estava sem poder fazer nada.

Agora estou melhor e minha mãe está aqui me ajudando. Ainda estou me sentindo cansada e me recuperando um pouco.

More Becca at Cannon Beach

Here is a little more Becca playing at the beach. She had a lot of fun. On the day this video was taken she also went swimming with daddy at the pool. She loved it so much he had to take her out screaming when it was time to leave.



Aqui vai mais um pouco de Rebecca na praia. Ela se divertiu bastante. Nesse mesmo dia ela foi nadar com o pai na piscina. Ela gostou tanto que ele teve que tirá-la de lá e carregá-la chorando por que ela nao queria sair por nada.

Cannon Beach

We spent the last three days at Cannon Beach on the Oregon coast. It was Rebecca's first time at the beach. I have pictures and video of our trip to look through and once I am done I'll post some of them. For now, here is Ollie during the car ride.





Nós passamos os últimos três dias na práia na costa de Oregon. Foi a primeira vez que a Rebecca brincou na práia. Eu tenho fotos e vídeos da viagem para organizar e quando terminar eu coloco algumas fotos aqui. Por enquanto , aqui está uma foto do Ollie no carro.
