My Birthday

This year I turned 29. As we have done for the last few years, we celebrated my birthday at Cannon Beach with Caleb's family.  I had a great time.

My nephew Morgan wrote on the sand for me on one of our walks.

We had some cake from Costco.  It was delicious and sooo sweet. I almost went into a sugar coma after having some.

Caleb and I did something we rarely do--we went out for a meal without the kids.  This was thanks to my sister-in-law Christine who watched the kids for us.  Here is the before and after of our meal.

At the end of the day we celebrated my birthday and the 4th with fireworks. Rebecca had fun but was also a bit scared of the noise.

Last but not least, I got an awesome present.  I got a really nice camera and some photography lessons.  I am really excited to learn to take really good pictures.

I've said it a few times but I'll say it again. I had a great birthaday!

Ikey

Rebecca loves her little brother.  She is a great big sister and a great helper to mommy (at least some of the time). 

She enjoys kissing him and stacking things on top of him.

And the best part is that she calls him Ikey.

 

 

Last Week

Once again this year we went to Cannon Beach for the week of the 4th of July.  We had so much fun spending time with family, celebrating my birthday, and playing on the beach (Becca's favorite). 

Rebecca loved the beach so much. She asked about it before going to bed, first thing in the morning, and throughout the day. It was pretty much all she talked about. We gave her five minute warnings when it was time to go back inside the house but it didn't help. Whenever it was time to leave we had to drag her home kicking and screaming.

Once again we participated in the Cannon Beach fourth of July parade.  We were dressed as cooks and chefs to celebrate our tradition of having a cooking competition between the family at Cannon Beach.

We also celebrated my birthday. I turned 29 this year. This birthday totally snuck up on me. I feel old.

The kids had their traditional treasure hunt on the beach.  It was really fun watching this sweet group of cousins look for their treasure.

Rebecca & Ollie

Rebecca loves to pick Ollie up and carry him around. He hates it when she holds him, of course, and he doesn't really let her pick him up so I have to put him in her arms.  I feel a little bad for him but she loves it and it keeps her from wanting to carry Isaac around.

I think they look really cute together.

Our blog now has a new look and hopefully a new life.  We are getting used to our new family dynamic and we are enjoying every minute of it.  Stay tuned!

Making a comeback

Hello again. It's been a while since I've blogged. Things have been crazy around here and when I get too busy the blog is the first thing to be put at the end of my to do list. A lot has happened since I got sick in July. Here is some of the most important news.

We had some water back up into our house in August and, after months of waiting, our downstairs is finally being put back together. I will post before and after pictures towards the end of the week.

Also, we found out the gender of our baby. Yes I am pregnant! I never even announced the pregnancy news here on the blog, so there you have it. In March 2012 we will be welcoming a little BOY into our family. We are so excited. If Rebecca knew what is going on she would be very excited as well. She loves babies.

This post was to get me going again. Pictures and video of Rebecca as well as the house will be coming shortly.

Voltando

Já faz bastante tempo que eu postei notícias. A vida têm sido um pouco louca por aqui e quando eu fico muito ocupada a primeira coisa que eu ignoro é o meu blog. Muitas coisas aconteceram desde que eu fiquei doente em julho. Aqui estão agumas das notícias mais importantes.

Nós tivemos um problema com esgoto que danificou o nosso piso de madeira no primeiro andar. Depois de meses de espera, a nossa casa está voltando ao normal com a instalação de um novo piso. Vou postar fotos do antes e do depois mais pro final da semana.

Também descobrimos o sexo do nosso bebê. Sim, eu estou grávida. Em março de 2012 nós vamos adicionar um MENINO à nossa familia. Nós estamos muito animados. Se a Rebecca soubesse que ela vai ter um irmãozinho logo ela também estaria animada por que ela adora bebês.

Bom, eu espero agora votlar a postar frequentemente. Logo logo postarei fotos e videos da casa e da Rebecca . Por enquanto, aqui está uma foto da Rebecca trabalhando ao lado do papai.
