Babies

Rebecca goes back and forth between wanting to take care of a baby and being a baby herself. 

Often times she takes a pacifier out of Isaac's mouth and gives it to her baby.  She used to be really jealous of Isaac, but now I think he is really jealous of her doll.

More Isaac

Everybody has been asking to see more pictures of Isaac. Here are some recent ones. It's getting easier to take pictures now that he can hold his head up better.

Here is Rebecca giving Ikey a few tips on how to be camera ready.

Nauvoo

We made a family trip to Nauvoo two weeks ago to attend the Hirst family reunion.  The trip was a bit rough with two young kids.  Rebecca did not sleep a single minute of the red-eye fight.  We learned a lot from the first leg of the trip and promised ourselves that the trip back would be better and easier. In many ways it was.

In Nauvoo we got to attend  a temple session. The temple is beautiful inside and out. That was my favorite part of the trip.

We also visited Liberty Jail. Bellow is a pictures of the window Joseph Smith fell from. It was pretty surreal being in that place.  I had so many thoughts and emotions just thinking about what Joseph went through the day he died.

We also got to take a wagon ride and experience a bit of what the pioneers went through.



Finally, we got to see family members we hadn't seen in years! It was was a really great family vacation.

Rebecca did not sleep on the fight back either but the trip was better. I guess she was a bit used to flying by then.  The trip was really fun even if at times really hard. Overall, we are very happy we were able to attend this family reunion.

Stylish

I got Rebecca a fedora since she wears mine every chance she gets. She looks cute and she knows it. She gets lots of compliments everywhere she goes.

Ouch

Rebecca fell in the garage yesterday. 

The bump on her head makes the fall seem much worse than it was. She only cried for a little bit and seemed fine soon after falling. She is fine, but I still cringe looking at her forehead.

My Birthday

This year I turned 29. As we have done for the last few years, we celebrated my birthday at Cannon Beach with Caleb's family.  I had a great time.

My nephew Morgan wrote on the sand for me on one of our walks.

We had some cake from Costco.  It was delicious and sooo sweet. I almost went into a sugar coma after having some.

Caleb and I did something we rarely do--we went out for a meal without the kids.  This was thanks to my sister-in-law Christine who watched the kids for us.  Here is the before and after of our meal.

At the end of the day we celebrated my birthday and the 4th with fireworks. Rebecca had fun but was also a bit scared of the noise.

Last but not least, I got an awesome present.  I got a really nice camera and some photography lessons.  I am really excited to learn to take really good pictures.

I've said it a few times but I'll say it again. I had a great birthaday!
